EU forces board Russian shadow fleet tanker in Mediterranean
EU forces boarded the tanker MV South Star on July 20 as part of Operation Irini, suspecting it of sailing under a false flag in violation of international maritime law. The vessel is believed to be part of Russia's so-called shadow fleet, used to circumvent Western sanctions.
