Louvre Theft Exposes Museums' Vulnerability to Organised Crime
The Apollo Gallery at the Louvre has reopened nine months after one of the most brazen museum thefts in recent history. Art recovery lawyer Christopher Marinello warns that cultural institutions worldwide are increasingly vulnerable to sophisticated organised crime. "If they could break into the Louvre, they can get in anywhere," he cautioned. The heist has reignited debate over balancing public access to cultural heritage with adequate security.
