Canadian spots 390-million-year-old meteorite crater on Google Maps

Amateur astronomer Joël Lapointe from Canada discovered a previously unrecognised meteorite crater in Québec while using Google Maps to plan a summer hiking trip. The ring-shaped depression measures roughly 25 kilometres (15.5 miles) across, and scientists who visited the site confirmed the find based on telltale rock formations. The crater is estimated to be around 390 million years old.
