Hawaiian Airlines to Replace Boeing 717s with 737-800s From 2028

Alaska Air Group announced plans to replace Hawaiian Airlines' aging Boeing 717 fleet with Alaska's Boeing 737-800s, with the transition set to begin in 2028. The 737-800s will be repainted in Hawaiian livery before deployment on inter-island routes. Hawaiian currently operates up to 160 daily 717 flights between five airports — Honolulu, Maui, Lihue, Kona and Hilo — on aircraft averaging 25 years old.
