BLIK to block payments to illegal gambling sites from September 1

Poland's BLIK payment operator has received approval from the National Bank of Poland to introduce a blocking mechanism for transactions directed at domains listed in the illegal gambling sites registry. The new safeguard will be activated on September 1 and will intervene at the payment authorisation stage. It marks a significant step in curbing illegal online gambling in Poland.
