Over 20,000 teacher vacancies in Polish schools ahead of new school year
With the new school year fast approaching, over 20,000 teaching posts remained unfilled in Polish schools as of mid-July. Marek Pleśniar of the National Association of Education Managers told Polsat News that schools are plugging the gap by rehiring retired teachers. Young people are avoiding the profession due to poor pay and bleak career prospects, leaving the staffing crisis unresolved nationwide.
