UPF Giants Filed 235 Lawsuits Against Governments to Block Health Rules

A Guardian investigation reveals that major ultra-processed food companies have filed at least 235 lawsuits against governments in five countries since 2010, challenging policies aimed at tackling unhealthy diets. UPF has been linked to harm in every major organ system in the body and makes up as much as half the average diet in the UK, US and Australia. Companies are using legal action as a systematic tool to obstruct health regulations.
