3M's optical tech cuts AI data centre fibre installation time by up to 85%

3M CEO Bill Brown revealed that the company's optical connectivity technology can reduce fibre installation time by up to 85% as hyperscalers build out AI data centres. The company, best known for Post-it notes, has found an unexpected role in the AI infrastructure boom. Brown made the comments as demand for AI data centre buildout accelerates globally.
