Double Palme d'Or winner Cristian Mungiu shoots new film in Gdańsk

Romanian director Cristian Mungiu, a two-time Palme d'Or winner at Cannes, is filming "Tales of the Golden Age – Warsaw Pact" in Gdańsk. The historic Biskupia Górka district is standing in for a Czechoslovak city, though the production has not revealed which one. The story is set in the late 1970s. The same location previously hosted filming for the spy series "Zatoka szpiegów."
