Baboons and macaques grasp basic geometry at a level similar to young children
A study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences found that olive baboons and rhesus macaques understand basic geometric relationships at a level comparable to young children. The findings challenge the previously held view that this ability is uniquely human.
