Casimir IV Jagiellon: the teenage ruler who built a European dynasty

Casimir IV Jagiellon, born in 1427 in Kraków, became Grand Duke of Lithuania as a teenager and later claimed the Polish crown after his brother Władysław III died at Varna. During his reign Poland won the Thirteen Years' War against the Teutonic Knights, capturing Malbork and gaining Royal Prussia via the Second Peace of Toruń. His children went on to sit on the thrones of Bohemia, Hungary and other European states, cementing Jagiellonian dynastic power.
