NYC Mayor Mamdani: city can't arrest Netanyahu but federal government should

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani admitted on Tuesday that his administration lacks the legal authority to carry out the International Criminal Court's arrest warrant against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Earlier this month the Democratic mayor had said he was exploring the legal possibility of detaining Netanyahu if he attended the UN General Assembly in September. Mamdani called on US federal authorities to act in the city's place.
