Polish carers look after Germany's elderly — but who will care for Poland's seniors?

An 84-year-old Polish woman named Ewa still works as a carer in Germany, feeding, dressing and driving elderly clients to rehabilitation. Polish carers in Germany are facing growing competition from Ukrainian workers, while back home there is a severe shortage of people willing to do the job. Adrianna Zaorska of the Polish Home Care Association warns the profession ranks at the very bottom of occupational prestige — below cleaning staff.
