1 in 4 US workers stay in unwanted jobs just to keep health insurance
A Gallup and West Health survey of more than 2,000 employed Americans found that nearly 24% stay in jobs they dislike solely to keep their health insurance — up sharply from 16% in 2021. The phenomenon, called "job lock," limits career mobility and discourages entrepreneurship, according to economists.
