Some Poles turn to exorcists instead of psychiatry for mentally ill relatives
A mother whose son has been diagnosed with epilepsy has been taking him to lay exorcists for years — not Catholic priests but self-styled "men of God" such as Tomasz Dorożała — believing the illness is demonic possession. Damian, who returned from abroad, also sought deliverance from "unclean forces". The report exposes a network of non-church exorcists operating entirely outside medical or religious oversight.
