Electrically Charged Martian Dust Storms Pose Threat to Future Missions

Martian dust storms can engulf the entire planet, blocking sunlight and making the surface unobservable. Scientists warn that the storms also generate electrical charges, posing an additional hazard to both robotic and crewed missions. Mars, Earth and Saturn's moon Titan are the only known planetary bodies with active dust storms.
