Over 1,400 Infected in US Cyclospora Outbreak Linked to Mexican Lettuce
US health officials have reported an outbreak of Cyclospora illness infecting more than 1,400 people across the country. Evidence points to lettuce grown in Mexico as the source of the parasitic infection, but Mexico's Health Ministry disputes the claim. Cyclospora causes diarrhoea and gastrointestinal symptoms and is spread through contaminated food or water.
