Dixon Dern, pioneer entertainment lawyer for CAA and CBS, dies at 97

Dixon Q. Dern, a pioneering entertainment lawyer who worked with CBS, Desilu and United Artists TV, has died at the age of 97. He represented clients including Desi Arnaz and the Television Academy, helped incorporate the Creative Artists Agency (CAA) and was a trailblazer in syndicated TV sales and pre-financing. Dern also frequently served as an arbitrator in labour disputes across the entertainment industry.
