Mykhailo Drapatyi appointed new commander of Ukraine's armed forces
Mykhailo Drapatyi has been appointed the new commander-in-chief of Ukraine's Armed Forces. He previously led the defence of Kryvyi Rih and the liberation of the right-bank Kherson region in 2022, and gained prominence for operations during the siege of Mariupol. His appointment is one of the most significant command changes in the Ukrainian military since Russia's full-scale invasion began.
