Sony Music sues Udio again, alleging AI trained on 30,000 copyrighted songs
Sony Music Entertainment has filed a second lawsuit against AI music generator Udio, accusing the startup of illegally copying over 30,000 songs — including tracks by Beyoncé, Harry Styles and Elvis Presley — to train its models. Sony, alongside Universal Music Group and Warner, first sued Udio and rival Suno in June 2024. The case is one of the most significant legal battles between the music industry and AI companies.
