Kowalski beats Wells 5-3 to reach Shenzhen Open semi-final

Polish snooker player Antoni Kowalski defeated Welshman Daniel Wells 5-3 on Tuesday to advance in qualifying for the Shenzhen Open, the rebranded successor to the Xi'an Grand Prix. Kowalski, a Crucible Theatre World Championship participant, showed excellent play in key moments. He will face another Sheffield semi-finalist on Wednesday for a place at the event in China.
