Anthropic settles for $1.5B over pirated books used to train Claude AI

A judge has approved a $1.5 billion settlement against Anthropic over the use of pirated books to train its Claude AI model. The lawsuit, brought by authors and publishers, alleged copyright infringement in the development of AI systems. It is one of the largest settlements in the history of AI copyright disputes.
