Zelensky fires Ukraine's top general Syrsky, appoints Drapaty as successor

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has dismissed General Oleksandr Syrsky as commander-in-chief of Ukraine's armed forces. Mykhailo Drapaty has been appointed as his successor. The move follows a wave of protests triggered by the earlier dismissal of the defence minister, who had clashed with Syrsky over military strategy.
