Lukashenko threatens farmers with military service for neglecting harvest duties

Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko has threatened that anyone who neglects their duties during the state harvest will be conscripted into the military. Some of those recruited in this way are set to be deployed to the border with Ukraine on security duty. Lukashenko warned that military service comes with unpleasant conditions — "mosquitoes, flies, midges and the like."
