Ex-Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger wants to revive Moore's Law using beams of light

Pat Gelsinger, former Intel CEO, is pursuing photonic technology — using tiny beams of light — to build ever more powerful chips and advance artificial intelligence. His goal is to reinvigorate Moore's Law, the principle that the number of transistors on a chip doubles roughly every two years, by applying light-based approaches to processor design.
