Plas Johnson, the saxophonist whose playing defined Henry Mancini's iconic "Pink Panther" theme, has died at 94. His memorable solo was improvised live in the recording studio. Johnson also worked as a session musician backing Frank Sinatra and Barbra Streisand throughout his career.
