Lionel Messi has been named the best player of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in a poll organised by the International Sports Press Association (AIPS). The Argentine superstar claimed the honour voted on by sports journalists from around the world. The AIPS award is separate from the official FIFA tournament prize.
