Anthropic's $1.5bn Book Piracy AI Settlement Approved by Court

Federal judge Araceli Martínez-Olguín has approved Anthropic's $1.5 billion class action settlement with authors who accused the company of training its AI models on copyrighted books. Each author will receive approximately $3,000 per book used in training. The judge described the settlement as providing "meaningful relief" to the plaintiffs.
