Boeing on track for 2028 Air Force One delivery as costs exceed $5 billion

Boeing confirmed it remains on track to deliver two new Air Force One jets in 2028, despite the programme running years behind schedule. Costs have ballooned from the original $3.9 billion contract signed in 2018 to more than $5 billion, with defence CEO Steve Parker warning of further cost growth as wiring, structural work and certifications are completed. The first aircraft is expected to begin flight testing in 2026.
