Critical 7-Zip vulnerability patched — update to version 26.02 now

A serious security vulnerability has been patched in the popular file compression tool 7-Zip, allowing remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on a victim's machine. The flaw lies in the processing of XZ chunked data, where a crafted compressed file can trigger a heap buffer overflow. Since 7-Zip has no auto-update, users must manually download and install version 26.02 from the 7-Zip website.
