RFK Jr. claims cyclospora outbreak is under control as US cases top 10,000
US Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has claimed that an outbreak of cyclosporiasis — a parasitic illness causing explosive diarrhea — is "under control," even as case numbers surpass 10,000 across more than 40 states. Cyclosporiasis is caused by the parasite Cyclospora cayetanensis and is typically spread through contaminated food or water.
