Trump hosts Lebanese president Aoun, pledges US support

US President Donald Trump hosted Lebanese President Joseph Aoun at the White House for the first time on July 20, pledging American support for Lebanon. The Lebanese army is taking over pilot safe zones in South Lebanon as pressure mounts on the government to disarm Hezbollah. Lebanon is also pushing for Israel to withdraw from the region.
