Polish MPC member: fuel price caps only as last resort — previous scheme cost PLN 5bn

Monetary Policy Council member Ludwik Kotecki said a return to maximum fuel prices — the so-called CPN scheme — should only happen as a last resort. He recalled that the previous CPN lasted three months and cost the state budget nearly PLN 5 billion in lost revenue. Kotecki also urged the MPC to remain cautious on interest rate decisions given global uncertainty.
