TSMC to raise chip prices by up to 10% in 2027

TSMC, which controls over 70% of the global semiconductor foundry market, plans to raise chip manufacturing prices by 5–10% in 2027, according to Nikkei Asia. Extra orders for high-performance computing chips outside customers' original forecasts will carry an additional 10–15% premium. The hikes are driven by rising material costs and overseas fab construction, including a 2nm plant in Arizona. TSMC's CEO acknowledged envy of memory chipmakers' margins but said price increases of "four to five times" would sink its customers.
