France set to ban under-15s from social media in landmark vote

France's parliament is expected to give final approval to legislation banning under-15s from social media, driven by concerns over young people's mental health. If passed, France would follow Australia, where the world's first ban for under-16s on platforms including Facebook, Snapchat, TikTok and YouTube came into force in December. The bill has cleared both houses of parliament.
