Final Fantasy 14 used FF11's infamous 30-hour boss as a meta joke

Absolute Virtue, the notorious Final Fantasy 11 boss whose fights could last nearly 30 hours and was considered unbeatable for three years, appears in Final Fantasy 14's Echoes of Vana'diel raid. This time, however, the boss is swiftly destroyed by another enemy before players can even engage it — a deliberate meta nod to the original's infamous legacy.
