PSL Threatens Coalition Partners: We'll Back Szpytma for IPN Chief, Even with PiS

A coalition dispute has erupted in Poland over the candidacy of Dr Mateusz Szpytma for the presidency of the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN). The Polish People's Party (PSL) has announced it will push his nomination through the Senate with PiS support, against the opposition of Civic Coalition (KO) and the Left. PSL has warned Prime Minister Donald Tusk that a failure to reach agreement will leave a lasting rift in the governing coalition.
