EU Fines AliExpress a Record €550 Million for Selling Illegal and Counterfeit Goods

The European Commission has fined Chinese e-commerce platform AliExpress a record €550 million for selling illegal, dangerous and counterfeit products. It is the highest such fine ever imposed in the EU. The Commission warned that further, even heavier penalties will follow if AliExpress does not comply with EU regulations and stop selling cheap counterfeits.
