Fallout: New Vegas director: RPGs should force players into hard, messy choices

Josh Sawyer, director of Fallout: New Vegas and Pentiment, said in The Examined Game podcast that he finds it uninteresting to design RPGs where the protagonist can save everyone and fix everything. He prefers creating scenarios that force players to make difficult decisions and sit with the consequences. Sawyer is reportedly working on a new Fallout game.
