SpaceX launches satellite repair drone with robot arms to orbit

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched today from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, carrying the MRV-MEV satellite-servicing vehicle and three Mission Extension Pods to geostationary orbit, 22,236 miles above Earth. The spacecraft, operated by Northrop Grumman's subsidiary SpaceLogistics, features robotic arms designed to repair and extend the life of existing satellites. The launch window opened at 5:15 p.m. EDT on July 21.
