Ukraine in political crisis as protests over defence minister Fedorov's dismissal enter day five
Street protests continued for a fifth consecutive day in Ukraine on July 19, following the dismissal of Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov. The 35-year-old minister, credited by many young Ukrainians with innovative drone tactics that boosted battlefield performance, was fired after repeated clashes with Army chief General Oleksandr Syrsky. President Volodymyr Zelensky is now working to defuse the political crisis and restore unity to the military.
