Polish Supreme Court: marital breakdown alone isn't enough for separate property regime

Poland's Supreme Court has ruled that a permanent breakdown of a marriage is not in itself sufficient grounds for a court to order a separate property regime. It must also be shown that the lack of cooperation between spouses significantly hinders the management of their joint assets. This means estranged couples may still remain bound by joint marital property rules.
