Judges over 65 to continue serving without KRS approval under new rules

The Polish government approved a draft amendment on Tuesday allowing judges to continue sitting after the age of 65 by submitting a personal declaration, removing the requirement for approval from the National Council of the Judiciary (KRS). The legislation also aims to curb judicial secondments to non-judicial roles. The bill had previously drawn criticism from the judiciary.
