Five people drown in Ohio's Scioto River while trying to save each other

An evening gathering by the Scioto River in Ohio turned to tragedy when one adult began to drown and four others entered the water in succession to save him — none of them made it back to shore. A terrified child witnessing the event ran to a nearby road and flagged down a passing driver to raise the alarm. All five people drowned.
