Banks win 80% of free-credit-sanction cases following TSUE ruling
Since the EU Court of Justice (TSUE) ruling in April, around 6,600 complaints related to the free credit sanction (SKD) have been filed against banks in Poland. Courts have issued roughly 1,500 verdicts, with nearly 80% favouring the banking sector, according to Polish Bank Association deputy president Agnieszka Wachnicka. Banks will nonetheless need to adjust their interest income as contracts are brought in line with the TSUE interpretation.
