Galaxy commits $5 million to protect Bitcoin against quantum computing threat

Crypto firm Galaxy is committing up to $5 million to prepare Bitcoin's cryptographic infrastructure for the quantum computing threat. Researchers, exchanges and the US government have warned that "Q-Day" — when quantum computers could break current encryption — may arrive as early as 2030.
