Court blocks HBO Max and Paramount+ merger with restraining order

A US federal judge has issued a restraining order blocking the planned merger of streaming platforms HBO Max and Paramount+. The deal had been announced in March after Netflix dropped out of the bidding war for Warner Bros. Discovery. The transaction cannot be completed for now, pending a court decision.
