Poland's public debt ratio among fastest-growing in EU, behind only Finland and Bulgaria

Eurostat data show Poland's public debt-to-GDP ratio rose by 4.5 percentage points year-on-year in Q1 2026, making it one of the fastest-growing in the EU. Only Finland and Bulgaria recorded larger increases. Poland now ranks among the most rapidly indebting EU member states.
