Journalist Poczobut plans to return to Minsk in September 2026 despite warnings

Andrzej Poczobut, a journalist and activist of the Union of Poles in Belarus who spent more than five years as a political prisoner under Alexander Lukashenko's regime, plans to return to Minsk in September 2026. He intends to attend the Congress of the Union of Poles in Belarus, despite warnings from Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski and Prime Minister Donald Tusk. The decision raises serious concerns given Lukashenko's unchanged repressive rule.
