Volhynia back in politics: Zelensky honours UPA unit amid Polish tensions
On the 83rd anniversary of the Volhynia massacre, the tragedy has re-entered hard international politics. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree establishing a national pantheon, while a Ukrainian military unit was named after UPA heroes — the organisation responsible for mass killings of Polish civilians in WWII. The moves have reignited diplomatic tensions between Warsaw and Kyiv.
